The University of New Mexico women’s cross country team remained No. 1 in the first week of the USATFCCCA poll released on Tuesday afternoon.
New Mexico received all 11 of the coaches’ first-place votes for the unanimous top-ranking for the second-straight time as well, collecting 330 points. This marks the second time in the last three seasons that the Lobos have started the first two weeks as the No. 1 team, with the last time being in 2016 when UNM was the top-ranked team for the first three weeks.
UNM returns to the course this Saturday, Sept. 15 in the Lori Fitzgerald Open at New Mexico State. The men begin at 7:45 a.m. and the women are scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.
