SANTA FE — New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture Jeff Witte will head a national group of state agriculture departments over the next year and serve as the host of the group’s meeting in Albuquerque.
The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture announced Witte’s election this week.
In a news release, Witte said the association has a busy 2019 agenda that will include working with the federal government as Congress considers a farm bill.
The association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. It will meet in Albuquerque next year Sept. 8-12.
