SPEED DEMONS: Irish racer Cormac McGeough of the UCI CT: Jelly Belly p/b Maxxis team completed the Tour de Los Alamos in a time of three hours, 26 minutes, 56 seconds, with an average speed of 24.07 mph to win the men’s pro division. Unattached Emily Abraham won the women’s pro division in 2:55:05, averaging 18.51 mph.
SAVING GRACE: In a lightning-shortened match Tuesday, the Santa Fe Prep girls rallied for two late goals to salvage an all-important 3-all tie against Bosque.
UPCOMING THINGS TO SEE OR DO
FOOTBALL: Although Santa Fe High School (2-3) has won two of its past three games, the Demons still have a tall task ahead when they face host St. Michael’s (1-3) at 7 tonight. The Horsemen have dominated the series of late, winning nine straight and 12 of 13.
OUTDOORS: Public Lands Day is coming up Saturday and Bandelier National Monument is looking for volunteers to help out from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Volunteers will remove an invasive plant species along the trail from Ponderosa Campground to the Upper Crossing. For more information, call 672-3861 ext. 517.
