Silver celebration

It’s fall, and the annual Abiquiú Studio Tour is all the excuse anyone needs for a drive through Georgia O’Keeffe Country in northern New Mexico.

The three-day art tour’s stops will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Oct. 6-8, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. It’s the 25th anniversary of the popular event and more than 80 artists will participate.

The Abiquiú Studio Tour is a self-guided, driving tour through the village of Abiquiú and the surrounding Chama River Valley’s landscape of mountains, rock formations and rivers. There are 25 stops on or near U.S. 84, north of Española on the way toward Chama, with five food stops along the way. Check out the book sale at the Abiquiú Public Library.

Complimentary maps are available at all the studios, local businesses and online for download.
