AS A RECRUITED athlete many years ago, I would never have considered playing for a university that was known for breaking promises to its student athletes. The UNM administration and athletic department should be ashamed of themselves for their treatment of our men’s soccer players.

I CAN’T BELIEVE that Alex Bregman doesn’t know why the networks have not had the Astros on prime time. Especially since the Democrats have figured out that the big cities on either coast are the only ones that matter. Remember, his father is a big wheel in the Democrat party in New Mexico. People in middle America are full of deplorables. Go Astros, beat the Boston team from the East coast.
GOOD TO SEE that Calvin Magee’s offense has awakened with a little mixture of the “wildcat” (have to hold on to the ball), an end around and a good mix of rushing and passing. Isn’t that why he was brought into the UNM program? Looking at the schedule that lies ahead, Lobo fans can only hope that the difference between a successful and unsuccessful season doesn’t hinge on the loss to the Liberty Flames. (I’m sure that Ritchie McKay enjoyed that one.)
LIKE THE Albuquerque Rapid Transit, construction of the luxury suites in the Pit, was an ill-conceived idea from the get go. But, since we have them, we need to put them to our advantage. … Put them to use as they are. Please don’t spend one dime repurposing the suites (office space? Please don’t). A Sports Speak-up submitter had a wonderful idea … give away these suites, on a rotational basis, to community and civic groups to use, in the hopes of generating more interest in Lobo basketball. It certainly is worth a try.
