It’s billed as one of the school’s most spirited events – and it’s all for a good cause.
Tony Hillerman Middle School hosted its fourth annual benefit volleyball game Wednesday.
The Go Pink or Go Home volleyball game was played against the middle school’s rival James Monroe Middle School.
Tony Hillerman raised over $3,000 and James Monroe raised $450 over the two days the school participated.
Tony Hillerman raised money during several lunchtime events, including a class competition for a “Dress Down Day” and the sale of spirit items.
“Our fourth Annual Go Pink or Go Home volleyball game was quite successful,” said Cristina Mancuso, the teacher who put the event together.
More than 300 students came and it was standing room only for the parents and families, according to Mancuso.
“There are so many people to thank. Students, teachers, custodians, administrators, parents, community members, local businesses, James Monroe Middle School, our cheerleaders, color guard, Rio Sol soccer team, our coaches, and volleyball players,” she said.
Both B- and A-volleyball teams played Wednesday.
