Fire breaks out in Los Ranchos woodworking shop

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A fire broke out in a woodworking business in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque Friday morning caused significant damage to the entire building, according to a spokesman for the Bernalillo County Fire Department.

Lt. David Lujan said firefighters were called to Pallares Custom  Interior on Roehl near 4th NW around 9:14 a.m. Nine BCFD units and five Albuquerque Fire Rescue units worked together to contain the flames.

By early afternoon he said crews have determined the 10,000 square foot building sustained significant fire and water damage. He said the fire has been contained but they were still working to completely extinguish it Friday afternoon.

“Our goal is to have loss stop here in the next hour where no more damage is happening in the building due to fire,” he said around 1:30 p.m.

Lujan said it was too soon to say what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
