Another Epix TV series is making New Mexico its home.
The new series “Our Lady, LTD” is filming in Santa Fe through March.
The new series is the latest collaboration between Epix and New Mexico. The network has filmed the series “Graves” and “Get Shorty” in the state.
“New Mexico has become a major player in the ‘Golden Age of Television,’ ” said Nick Maniatis, director of the state Film Office. “We are delighted to welcome ‘Our Lady, LTD,’ yet another TV series representing long-term economic impact for New Mexico crew, vendors and communities.”
The series stars Ben Kingsley, Jacki Weaver and Jimmi Simpson.
It follows a young grifter named James, played by Simpson, as he attempts to prey upon Pastor Byron Brown, played by Kingsley, who turns out to be far more dangerous than James suspects.
James works with Paul Allen Brown, played by Damon Herriman, as the pair design a scheme to fleece his own parents out of millions.
Pastor Brown and his wife, Lillian, played by Weaver – known to their parishioners as Pa and Ma – have used religion to bilk hundreds of innocent people out of their life savings.
Also acting in the series are Luis Guzman, Chris Conrad, Terry O’Quinn, Kurtwood Smith and Hana Mae Lee.
According to the New Mexico Film Office, the production will employ about 150 New Mexico crew members, 40 New Mexico actors and 2,000 New Mexico background talent workers.
“Our television and film economy continues to grow, creating local jobs and contributing to our reputation as the place to make amazing movies and TV,” Santa Fe Mayor Alan Webber said.
Steve Conrad and Bruce Terris serve as executive producers and showrunners, with Conrad directing six episodes.
