Blake’s rolls out chile developed specifically for Lotaburger

Blake’s Lotaburger is introducing new chile for its cheeseburgers that it created in conjunction with farmers in Hatch.

The chile, which took eight years to develop, is roasted within a few hours of harvest, the restaurant chain said. The product, called “Blake’s Signature Chile,” is specifically for the Albuquerque-based restaurant chain.

“The carefully developed and incomparable roasting process enhances the chile’s taste while also maintaining its texture – creating a chile with exceptional flavor and fire,” Blake’s said in a news release. “Unlike many other products on the market, the chile’s heat level is all natural, with no capsicum added.”

It will now be featured on Blake’s green chile cheese Lotaburgers and Itsaburgers.

“Working directly with New Mexico farmers to introduce the public to this proprietary Hatch green chile is a dream come true for Blake’s Lotaburger, enabling Blake’s to both support the local farming community and highlight its commitment to its New Mexico heritage,” the news release said.
