SANTA FE, N.M. — Looking to ring in the New Year in style?
Studio 54 will be revived for one night only right here in Santa Fe, as SITE Santa Fe pays homage to the historic disco-era New York nightclub with its New Year’s Eve dance party. The contemporary art center will transform itself with a disco ball, lounge, dancers and more. Music will be provided by local DJs Eldon and Melanie Moore. The evening also includes a Studio 54 costume contest. Guests are encouraged to wear their best disco attire or come dressed as a specific Studio 54 regular – Andy Warhol, or maybe Bianca Jagger? A full bar will be available until 1 a.m. and there will be catering from Opuntia Cafe. Admission is available for guests ages 21 and over.
Tickets are $55, or $45 for SITE Santa Fe or AMP Concerts members, at holdmyticket.com. Tickets can also be purchased by phone 505-886-1251. The party starts at 9 p.m. tomorrow at SITE, 1606 Paseo de Peralta.
A ‘wild’ time: Meow Wolf is inviting guests to ride a “wild carousel” as this year turns into the next. The burgeoning art enterprise’s New Year’s Eve party has a full lineup of electronic music and DJs to keep the party going until 2 a.m. The group includes producer and DJ AMTRAC; Santa Fe-based electronic duo Spoolius; local musician and DJ Brian Mayhall; and others. Guests are also encouraged to “dress as your future best.”
“The Carousel” party begins at 9 p.m. at “The House of Eternal Return,” 1352 Rufina Circle. Admission is for ages 21 and over only. Purchase tickets, $40 each, at meowwolf.com.
NYE for kids: For something family-friendly, head over to the last night of Santa Fe Botanical Garden’s “GLOW – Cosmic Nights.” A children’s NYE party starts early in the evening, perfect for families who have other plans for later on. Festivities start at 5 p.m. with live entertainment from children’s songs musician Andy Mason, snacks and kids’ activities. At 7 p.m., there will be a flower petal drop to countdown to “midnight.” Admission to “GLOW” is free for kids ages 12 and under. Otherwise, tickets for non-members are $10 at the door or $9.50 online at santafebotanicalgarden.org. Members pay $8 at the door or $7.50 online. Tickets for seniors, active military or members of the Big Brothers Big Sisters are $9, or $8.50 if purchased online.
