ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Three Melrose High School students claimed top honors Tuesday at the New Mexico Supercomputing Challenge. The boys’ work focused on projecting the path of a wild fire and developing the best strategies to fight it.
The challenge teaches students to do real-world research using powerful computers.
Second and third place both went to teams of Los Alamos students. Check tomorrow’s Journal North for a more detailed story, and also next week’s Schools page for a complete list of winners.
