Report: ‘Bones’ passed post-UFC 232 drug tests

Albuquerque resident and Jackson-Wink MMA fighter Jon “Bones” Jones passed “multiple” drug tests following his UFC 232 victory in Los Angeles to regain the light heavyweight title belt, reported.

UFC had made the extraordinary decision to move its show from Las Vegas, Nev., during a holiday week just to keep Jones on the card. He had recently tested positive for low levels of a banned steroid, but California regulatory officials didn’t consider the result serious enough to keep the long-troubled star out of the octagon, while Nevada’s commission did.

California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Foster told that Jones was tested by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the commission, and tests came back negative — inclding for the M3 matabolite for which Jones, 31, tested positive on Dec. 9.

Jones is scheduled to face Anthony Smith in the main event of UFC 235 on March 2 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., provided he’s granted a license.
