ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police have identified the man fatally shot outside a cafe near the bosque on Wednesday morning.

APD spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said 43-year-old Isaac Candelaria was shot around 8 a.m. outside the Central Grill and Coffee House on Central, near Rio Grande Boulevard.

Candelaria later died at the hospital and police led a manhunt through the bosque for his shooter, eventually calling off the search Thursday evening.

“Detectives have collected many items of evidence that will be processed,” Gallegos said. “The investigation is active and ongoing.”

Police have not said what led to the shooting or given any other details.
