ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico State Police say an Anthony man was arrested Wednesday following a pursuit involving the U.S. Border Patrol.
Lewis C. Delgado of Anthony was charged with possession of methamphetamine, DUI, aggravated fleeing and receiving or transferring a motor vehicle following a chase along Interstate 25. During the pursuit, the truck driven by Delgado drove southbound in the northbound lanes.
Tire deflation devices were deployed several times, state police said, which Delgado avoided. He then lost control of the vehicle which stopped on the west shoulder of Interstate 25 at N.M. 10.
Officers took Delgado into custody and he was transported to the hospital for medical issues not related to the incident. While it was reported that a State Police Tactical Team officer discharged a firearm, no one was struck by the gunfire.
