New Mexico United’s first-year professional soccer team unveiled its home jerseys on Thursday, leaving no mystery as to its burgeoning partnership.
Meow Wolf, the interactive art collective in Santa Fe, has signed up with United on this maiden voyage.
United owner Peter Trevisani’s ties to Meow Wolf are extensive. He was an early investor and a “strategic adviser” before focusing on United, said a team spokesperson. It’s also part of his Twitter bio.
“The front of the jersey sponsor was obvious,” Trevisani said in a YouTube video produced to briefly explain the alliance.
“… If we’re going to be a team that brings this state together the way it’s never been brought together before, then we have to blend art and sport.”
