TO COUGH, COUGH, choke: At least you’re watching the Aggies in the tournament. The Lobos do no better if they ever reach the big dance which is rare in itself. It was great watching your Lobos getting slapped around all year. How does it feel to be a bottom feeder in a mid-conference? Expect some more next year!

HEY MARKD, WAC 6-3 against the MW, Aggies were 3-0. Nevada and Utah St. bounced in the first round as 7 and 8 seeds. Meanwhile you’re team was at home, again. You’re right, the Aggies need to schedule up. Choke on the facts.
MARKD IS absolutely right! NMSU needs to drop a few Weak Sisters from its schedule. Especially since the Rio Grande rivalry hasn’t been much of a rivalry lately. Every school schedules various levels of competition. It’s healthy for both sides in terms of exposure, added revenue, sportsmanship, and team evaluation. The final scores and overall records don’t mean a thing. As New Mexicans, we should support our kids who compete at any level, not ridicule them. Don’t forget: Teams that play in a glass Pit should not throw stones.

SO THE AGGIES play the “Little Sisters of the Poor ” to get 30 wins. Guess that makes the Lobos “Little Sisters of the Poor” since the Aggies beat them every year! Get a real team Lobos.

THE BIGGEST CRIME Paul Krebs committed was not renovating the Pit to be able to have NCAA tournament games. The Pit is famous in college basketball. There should be NCAA tournament games there on a regular basis. UNM, do everything you must to get the Pit eligible for NCAA Tournament games. Get the money from the Legislature or a GoFundMe page. Just do it.

SOME OF THE CITIES hosting (NCAA) games are Des Moines, Tulsa and that hotbed of basketball, San Jose. MWC Commissioner Craig Thompson was on the NCAA Basketball Selection Committee. Does anyone at all think that maybe during a break, he would have put in a good word about getting the Pit back in the rotation? The NCAA can’t take away the fact that all of the fans who came to Albuquerque over the years had a great time while watching their teams play in one of the great venues in college basketball history.
DOES ANYONE remember the name Ritchie McKay? Here at UNM we send people away… either to better opportunities or the criminal justice system.
