Rio Rancho is hosting the Eggs ‘N Beggin’ Dog Parade and Costume Contest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 13 – a Saturday – at the Cabezon Recreation Center, 2307 Cabezon NE.

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is working with Rio Rancho Animal Control, Pet Food Gone Wild and various other rescue groups for what organizers are calling a “Pet-acular event!”

You can bring your pooches, get a photo op with the Easter Bunny and bring a basket for an egg hunt, according to a news release.

Don’t forget to dress up your pet in their holiday best, and participate in the pet parade and costume contest.

Your cost to join the fun is an unopened bag of dog/cat food, or four cans of dog/cat food, or a bag of cat litter for the parade and costume contest.

Bring your pet’s proof of vaccinations.
