ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed at the intersection of Indiana and Acoma SE early Monday morning.

Gilbert Gallegos, a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department, said around 2:55 a.m. officers were called to the 300 block of Indiana SE.

“Officers arrived and located one male subject with an apparent gunshot to the upper torso,” Gallegos wrote in a news release. “(Albuquerque Fire Rescue) arrived on scene and the male succumbed to his injuries.”

Gallegos said the man had not been identified as of Monday morning. He said detectives and officers are interviewing people but had not identified a suspect.

“Criminalistics personnel have processed the scene, locating casings and a projectile,” Gallegos wrote. “This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be made when available.”
