Obituary: Diane Mae Mee

Diane Mae Mee peacefully departed from our world at the age of 77.

She was born in Long Beach, Calif., to Clifford Truxal and Lucille Whitson. She joined the Army in her early 20s.

Her youth nickname was “Rusty” because of her red hair. Her strong will and full spirit opened the way for adventures in her early years: scuba diving, motorcycle riding and body surfing to name a few.

During her life, she lived in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Missouri, Texas and Tennessee.

Diane married twice in her life. She was widowed when her children were very young, and then married again after they were both grown.

Diane resided in the Albuquerque, N.M., area for the past 24 years. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho.

She helped with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a Catholic organization in New Mexico that serves people in need. Diane worked with Welcome Wagon, connecting businesses with new residents.

Diane always had adopted pets in her care. She will be remembered as a strong, courageous lady. Diane will be greatly missed!

Arrangements have been entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque. 764-9620
