APD: Police open fire, nobody injured during arrest on West Side

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Officers fired shots at a suspect Tuesday night during a confrontation in a West Side shopping center, according to the Albuquerque Police Department. APD is now investigating if the suspect also fired at them.

APD spokesman Daren DeAguero said nobody was injured and the suspect is in custody.

DeAguero said it started when police tried to arrest someone at a shopping center at 57th and Ouray, a block west of Coors.

“As they were doing so shots were fired,” he said. “No one received any gunshot injuries and the suspect was taken into custody.”
