ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Department of Public Safety Secretary Gorden Eden had some hands-on law enforcement experience Tuesday morning when he tried to stop a blue Ford truck driving erratically on northbound Interstate 25 near Bernalillo around 7:50 a.m., according to a DPS news release.
Eden saw the truck change lanes in an erratic manner, slowing down to 35 mph, then speeding up to around 85 mph, the release said.
He put on his flashing lights and called State Police dispatch in Albuquerque for backup as he tried to get the truck to pull over.
The truck continued driving erratically northward for about 3 miles until a State Police officer caught up and pulled the truck over, according to the release.
The driver, 35-year-old Frank Romero of Mora, was arrested on charges of reckless driving and resisting or evading an officer, the DPS said.
