Albuquerque Police Department detectives are investigating a homicide in a Northeast Heights apartment complex parking lot Wednesday morning.
Foothills area command Lt. Shawn Garrett said around 6 a.m. officers were called to a parking lot near Candelaria and Juan Tabo NE.
“The caller was walking by early this morning and found the individual in the parking lot with apparent trauma to the chest area,” Garrett said. “AFR and APD responded to the scene, located the victim, and that victim was pronounced deceased on scene.”
Garrett said they are still determining how the man died. He said they have not identified the man and don’t know if he lived in the apartment complex.
“It’s very early in the preliminary investigation,” he said. “Violent crimes as well as us have been canvassing the neighborhoods. We’re trying to track down all those leads to see what they have.”
