ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The federal agency awards $275,000 to the Taos organization
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded $275,000 to the Taos County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC).
The announcement of the grant was made Monday by the USDA and Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, D-N.M., in a news release issued by the USDA.
The money was awarded through the federal agency’s Outreach and Technical Assistance to Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers, also known as the “2501” program, according to the news release.
The news release said the foundation of TCEDC’s plan this year is to revitalize ranching and farming traditions that support the cultures of the area, while incorporating new technologies and marketing opportunities.
