The Netflix-produced film will continue production through October.
In “Army of the Dead,” Snyder returns to his directorial roots, offering this zombie-adventure film.
The film follows a group of mercenaries who, following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
The film stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi, Omari Hardwick, Chris D’Elia, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, Samantha Win and Rich Cetrone.
According to the New Mexico Film Office, the production will employ 501 New Mexico crew members, 20 New Mexico actors and 2,163 background talent.
“Netflix is making good on its promise, as part of the 2018 partnership with New Mexico, to bring $1 billion dollars in production to New Mexico over the next 10 years and create up to 1,000 production jobs a year,” said Cabinet Secretary Alicia J. Keyes of the Economic Development Department. “Netflix is a great partner for the State of New Mexico and we are very excited that they chose to film such a high profile project as one of their first films under the NM Partnership Agreement.”
A casting call was held in Albuquerque on June 22 at the Johnny Tapia/Wells Park Community Center.
Producing on the project are Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller.
