Sports Speak Up! On NASCAR driver’s popularity — and a Super Bowl prediction

THE JOURNAL reported that Brad Keselowski won the “poll” at Brooklyn, Michigan. Although Brad is one of our most favored NASCAR drivers, I doubt that he was the winner of a popularity questionnaire.

WOW, THE QB recruiting at UTEP must be at an all-time low when you let a guy that was drinking, possessed marijuana, has a gun and threatens to use it continue to play. Sure everybody deserves a second chance, but check this kids record and background. He’s had plenty of chances. I guess it’s true, because the apple doesn’t fall ever far from the Locksley tree.

LET ME SEE if I have this straight: it’s bad for Megan Rapinoe of the WNT to mix politics and sports, but it’s OK for UFC fighter Colby Covington to do so. Oh, yeah, that’s because Covington loves Trump, but Rapinoe does not. Got it!

MY PREDICTION for Super Bowl 54: the Detroit Lions edge the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17-14 on a 59-yard field goal as time expires. While that may seem far-fetched, as no team has so far taken even one regular-season snap it’s every bit as plausible as Vinny Iyer’s prediction in that the Dallas Cowboys will beat the KC Chiefs 31-27. Let’s wait until next February to see who’s right.
