SFPD investigating shooting on Cerrillos Road

SANTA FE, N.M. — The Santa Fe police are investing a shooting that took place Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Cerrillos Road and Richards Avenue.

An individual was struck by gunfire, was treated by responding officers and transported by ambulance to a the hospital, the SFPD said in a news release.

Deputy Chief Ben Valdez said around 7 p.m. that officers found a white Nissan Maxima believed to have been used by people involved in the shooting. The car was at the Walgreens on West Zia Road and St. Francis Drive and officers were interviewing the three people found inside. Valdez said police were still looking for a fourth person who walked away from the car.

Valdez said police did not know a motive for the shooting as of Wednesday evening.
