ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police are investigating after they say a child was injured in a shooting at a southeast Albuquerque apartment complex Wednesday afternoon.

Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said the child is being treated for non life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.

He said the shooting occurred at an apartment in the 3400 block of Ross SE, near Carlisle and Gibson, around 3:30 p.m.

Gallegos said officers are looking into what led to the shooting. He did not give the child’s age, say where they were shot or provide any other details.
