Volleyball: Lobos fall to 1-2, Aggies sweep in Auburn

GREELEY, Colo. — Host Northern Colorado (2-0) beat New Mexico in five sets (25-23, 25-22, 30-34, 21-25, 15-4) Saturday, leaving the Lobos with a 1-2 record in the season-opening Northern Colorado Tournament.

Lauren Twitty had 17 kills and 15 digs for her second double-double of the weekend. The Lobos will play in the Borderland Tournament beginning Friday in Las Cruces, facing Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Pacific and host New Mexico State.

NMSU 3, TENNESSEE STATE 0: In Auburn, Ala., New Mexico State concluded a perfect weekend at the War Eagle Invitational, topping the 1-2 Tigers 25-22, 25-20 and 25-20. Albuquerque’s Cat Kelly had a team-best 11 kills and four service aces for the Aggies, who beat Butler and host Auburn on Friday.
