SINCE ITS INCEPTION, ESPN, the supposed “Worldwide Leader in Sports” continues to confuse New Mexico and New Mexico State. The latest blunders had UNM losing to Washington State this past weekend and NMSU scheduled to play at Notre Dame on September 14. I’ve never seen confusion regarding Michigan/Michigan State, North Carolina/North Carolina State and others so it is an obvious lack of respect for our state and universities. My suggestion is for ESPN to dock each ill-informed employee $500 per incident on their next paycheck. Respect restored and the problem guaranteed to be solved.

WELL, WE ALL survived the blazing heat of the opening game of Lobo football on Saturday. For the fans who stayed away due to the midday heat, be advised that the west side of the stadium was completely shaded for the entire game. … For the brave souls who sat on the east side of the stadium, bless your hearts, you must have perfect tans. By the time we host hated rival NMSU on Sept. 21, we should have conventional football weather, so let’s pack the stadium and watch our prolific offense continue to torch the scoreboard. On to Notre Dame.

YIKES, TENNESSEE Mouseketeers. Really? A home loss to powerhouse Georgia State? Maybe the Sun Belt Conference can open up a spot for you. But you would have to up your level of play first.
