Power outage forces school closure, but classes will resume Thursday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque Public Schools officials on Wednesday morning called off classes at Dennis Chavez Elementary School due to a power outage.

However, classes will resume on Thursday, as scheduled, as an APS spokeswoman announced around 3:30 p.m. that power had been restored.

Communications Director Johanna King said earlier that district would post updates to APS.edu and the school’s website.
