Rio Bravo Brewing Company is celebrating four years in the New Mexico brewing scene with a big bash.
The party kicks off at 7 tonight (Sept. 21) in the brewery’s Biergarten.
A special beer tasting from 7-8 p.m. will showcase the brewery’s newest beer releases including Basic Witch, a brown pumpkin spice; University of New Mexico “Lobo Louie’s IPA” or “El Lobo Rojo” and three German beers. Chile roasting, compliments of Albertsons, will take place from 5-8 p.m.
Brandon Saiz, an upcoming artist from Bernalillo, will begin the live entertainment at 8:30 p.m. on the new outdoor stage in the Biergarten. The headliner, country music star and Las Cruces native Josh Grider, will perform at 9:30 p.m.
Grider’s performace is presented by ABQ-Live the Magazine that will be giving away prizes including a one night stay at Hotel Andaluz, Isotopes and Albuquerque International Ballon Fiesta tickets as well as a variety of gift certificates.
“See you soon ABQ!,” said Grider. “Don’t think I didn’t see that there will be onsite chile roasting. Nothing better in the world than NM green chile!”
Rio Bravo restored its current location, the “1949 building,” in 2015. It features a large tap room, Biergarten, a Barrel Room for meetings and events, and a full kitchen run by Chef Brian Johns. A glass panel allows patrons to peer into the large brewing and canning area and watch the brewers in action.
