Winning drive: Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel giving away a Silverado truck in October

Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel is giving one its guests a new ride this October.

Be part of the “Silverado Truck Giveaway” for a chance to win cash prizes or a 2019 Chevy Silverado. Patrons can earn entries now through Oct. 26. Players receive an entry when they accrue 500 points playing their favorite Santa Ana games using their Star Rewards Club card. Ten guests will be chosen in a drawing at 8 p.m. on Oct. 26. Ten guests will be selected during the drawing with nine winning cash prizes and one driving away in the new Chevy Silverado.

Santa Ana Star is helping you get decked out for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. The casino is giving away its annual Balloon Fiesta sweatshirt beginning on Oct. 1. Star Rewards Club members that earn 500 points in one day will receive a free hot air balloon-themed sweatshirt. Star Rewards Club members can earn one sweatshirt per day while supplies last.

“Pigskin Picks” returns to Santa Ana Star. Make your weekly picks this football season for an opportunity to win a share of a weekly $1,000 free-play prize pool. All Star Rewards Club members will receive a free entry into “Pigskin Picks” every week of the regular NFL matchups. Participants can make picks of which teams will win the weekly NFL matchups on a Fast Rewards kiosk. Every week, the 10 people with the most correct picks will split a $1,000 free play pool prize.

Santa Ana Star patrons can also place their bets on their favorite games in the casino’s sportsbook. Guests can visit the main sportsbook or visit the new sportsbook location, inside Cantina Rio, and enjoy a good meal and a cold beverage while placing their bets. Cantina Rio also carries the NFL’s Sunday Ticket, which allows patrons to catch all the NFL games every Sunday.

In addition to the game action, Cantina Rio offers “bar bites” every Friday through Sunday, including Philly Cheesesteak Fries, a half-dozen Buffalo wings, hot or mild, or a sampler platter of mozzarella sticks, fried macaroni-and-cheese bites, Buffalo chicken tenders served on a bed of fries. Every Sunday, guests can enjoy $4 drafts during NFL games. Enjoy $3 domestic bottled beer and $2 off wine from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

This month, Cantino Rio is offering a 16-ounce T-bone steak served with a loaded baked potato and corn on the cob for $18.

Things are heating up at The Stage tonight with The Lalas Burlesque Show. Things turn cool and smooth when St. Paul and the Broken Bones stop by with their soulful and intimate R&B sound on Monday, Sept. 30. Early next month, actor, comedian and television personality Doug Benson brings the laughs to The Stage on Oct. 5. The Stage keeps up the giggles every Thursday with “Stand-up Comedy Thursdays.” Doors open at 6 p.m., and the comedy begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and information are available at
