ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives are investigating after a person was found slain at a home in Southeast Albuquerque on Friday afternoon.

Gilbert Gallegos, a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department, said police made the discovery at a home in the 400 block of Utah, near Zuni and Wyoming SE.

He did not say who was killed, how they were killed, if police have any suspects or give any other details.

Crime scene tape blocked either end of Utah as two mobile crime labs sat side by side in the perimeter. An investigator combed through the front yard of a home as neighbors looked on from next door.

A woman sitting outside with her two dogs said the home has been vacant since the owner was evicted recently.

She said a fire broke out Thursday in the backyard and on Friday, the evicted owner came by to talk to police after a body was found inside.
