One body at Pecos Wilderness crash site ID’d

SANTA FE — State Police have identified one of the bodies found at a plane crash site in the Pecos Wilderness as a Colorado man, but the other body has yet to be identified.

Nicholas Peterson, 29, of Littleton, Colo., was identified by the state Office of the Medical Investigator as a the pilot of a plane that was found near Hamilton Mesa in Mora County on Sept. 30. Another body was found at the crash site.

A National Transportation Safety Board spokesman said the agency has not yet received a preliminary report on the crash and could not confirm if the plane was the same aircraft that was last seen refueling at the Santa Fe Regional Airport Sept. 26 before it went missing.
