ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Motor Vehicle Division says it will be holding special office hours at eight locations around the state the next two Saturdays as part of the Standard License rollout.
The new Standard License, which state residents can obtain with as little as one document proving identity and age and another two proving state residency, is an alternative to the so-called Real ID license, according to a Taxation and Revenue Department news release. The Standard Driver’s Licenses and IDs do not satisfy federal Real ID requirements, however, and after Oct. 1, 2020, will not be valid for boarding commercial flights or entering certain federal facilities.
To obtain driver’s licenses and IDs and conduct any other MVD business, MVD will have special Saturday office hours at the following offices from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 12 and Oct. 19:
⋄ Albuquerque – Montgomery Plaza office, 4575 San Mateo NE, Suite G190;
⋄ Albuquerque – Eagle Vista office, 9651 Eagle Ranch NW;
⋄ Albuquerque – Rio Bravo office, 3211 Coors SW, Suites D10 and 11;
⋄ Las Cruces – Main Street office, 505 S. Main Street, Suite 357;
⋄ Las Cruces – Del Rey office, 3291 Del Rey Boulevard, Suite 10;
⋄ Santa Fe office, 2546 Camino Entrada;
⋄ Gallup office, 1710 East Aztec Avenue; and
⋄ Hobbs municipal MVD office, 4800 Jack Gomez Boulevard
Those interested in obtaining any license should make sure they have all the necessary documents before going to an MVD office.
