Ciudad District supervisor – Daniel Conklin
The tiny team that runs the Ciudad Soil and Water Conservation District on grant funds seeks to “promote the conservation, improvement and responsible use” of natural resources. Its next endeavor: securing grant funding to build a pollinator hedgerow around the Gutierrez-Hubbell House and a demonstration garden on open space land.
Only the district’s at-large supervisor position is challenged; incumbent Daniel A. Conklin is the clear choice for the job. Since retiring from a corporate banking job that took him around the world, Conklin has been a dedicated volunteer who graduated from Bernalillo County’s Master Naturalist Program in 2012 and never looked back. He knows the people, projects and funding mechanisms to keep Ciudad on track and deserves a new term.
