One woman dead in overnight homicide

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police on Sunday arrested a 59-year-old man and charged him with the murder of his wife, Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said in a news release.

Homicide detectives arrested Albert Gene Miller and charged him with an open count of first degree murder of 53-year-old Yvette Montoya.

Gallegos said the investigation was started Sunday at 12:52 a.m. at 8620 Silk Tassel Rd NW after a woman was found deceased inside the residence. Detectives interviewed Miller and arrested him for homicide.

Police didn’t immediately say how Montoya died.
