ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — People with outstanding nonviolent bench warrants are invited to address them at Metropolitan Court’s Warrant Resolution Day on Friday.
The event takes place Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and gives people a chance to avoid the possibility of being arrested during a traffic stop by working with a judge to address the warrant.
“People will be able to walk out with their case resolved or with an upcoming court date and in good standing with the court,” Court Executive Officer Robert Padilla said in a news release.
Attorneys will be on site to offer advice and discuss options with participants before they speak with a judge.
Domestic violence, drunken driving and felony warrants are not eligible.
