Lucky patrons will win extra holiday spending cash this November at The Downs Racetrack & Casino.
The casino will host a “$120,000 Winning Wheels” promotion Monday though Friday in November. Drawings will be held at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Six winners will be selected per drawing for a chance to win up to $1,000 in cash by spinning wheels.
On Saturdays and Sundays The Downs will hold its “$27,000 Cash Weekends” promotion. Guests have an opportunity to win their share of $3,000 in cash. Drawings will be held at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Three winners will be chosen during each drawing for a chance at $200 in cash. Patrons qualify by playing their favorite slot game.
Rack up the points every Wednesday this month. Triple Crown Players Club members will receive five times the points on Wednesdays. Members with a birthday in November will earn three times the points on their actual birthday and two times the points every Tuesday this month. All members will receive a bonus five times the points on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28.
Don’t be stuck in the kitchen this Thanksgiving and let The Downs handle the turkey and all the fixings from 4 to 9 p.m. Nov. 28.
The Crown Room will be offering your choice of smoked turkey louie salad or green chile turkey soup to start. Follow it up with either carmelized pork belly or turkey osso bucco. The entree is a “Duckturken Trio,” which consists of a confit duck lettuce wrap, pancetta turkey involtini, southern game hen sweet potato pie. The dinner will end with a sweet dessert duo made up of salted caramel pumpkin cheesecake and flourless chocolate torte with raspberry cream and Chantilly cream. The gourmet dinner is $35.99 per person.
For more casual dining, head to The Downs Cafe where they will be offering a special menu for $11.95 for adults and $7.95 for ages 10 and younger from 4 to 9 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. The special menu offers your choice of slow roasted turkey breast or honey glazed ham. This includes a side salad with your choice of dressing served with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, sauteed green beans and a dinner roll. For dessert, guests can choose between housemade apple or pumpkin pie. Add vanilla ice cream for $1 more.
In addition to its regular menu The Crown Room offers a casual dining menu beginning at 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for $6.99 for Triple Crown Players Club members. Guests get their choice of pepper braised beef and crispy jalapeños with garlic mashed potatoes, carrots and gravy or they can choose crispy buffalo shrimp salad. The salad consists of romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots, chow mein noodle and deep fried shrimp in Buffalo sauce topped with shredded cheese and ranch dressing. Each special includes a beverage.
The Downs Cafe also offers full seated dining from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and offers brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. Menu selections on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays include prime rib, grilled pork chops, salmon, chicken fried steak, sandwiches, burgers, salads and more. A variety of the dinners start at $7.99 per person. The cafe also offers all you can eat ribs from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursdays for $14.99 per person.
Dance the calories off during Ladies Night every Thursday or Friday and Saturday nights at the First Turn Lounge. Each of those nights offer live entertainment without a cover charge. Get your party on with Gonzalo tonight, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16; Westwind Band on Nov. 21; Tequila Rain on Nov. 22 and 23 and Fat City on Nov. 29 and 30. There will be no entertainment on Thanksgiving Day.
