ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police are investigating a shooting in a Southeast Albuquerque neighborhood Thursday night that left one man hospitalized in critical condition.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Cedar and Coal just before 9:30 p.m. on reports of shots being fired in the area, according to a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department.
“Officers arrived and discovered a male subject that appeared to have been shot,” APD spokesman Daren DeAguero said in a late-night news release.
The man was transported to UNM Hospital where police say he is in critical condition.
Police did not list any suspects or give any other information identifying the male.
“We are in the early stages of this investigation, so information is limited,” DeAguero said.
