ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Broadway between Lead and Coal is open again after the investigation of a fatal crash closed the roadway for more than two and a half hours.
A motorcyclist was killed, according to an Albuquerque Police Department spokesman, after a crash with a Smart car.
“The motorcyclist has succumbed to his injuries,” APD spokesman Daren DeAguero said in a news release. He did not give any information identifying the victim.
The closure was announced by the Albuquerque Police Department’s traffic account on twitter just before 7:45 p.m. Monday.
“The scene is currently active so information is limited,” DeAguero said.
The roadway remained closed in both directions until about 10:30 p.m. while police and the Office of the Medical Investigator worked the scene.
