Santi Moar helped spark New Mexico United’s run to a playoff berth in its inaugural United Soccer League season.
But in 2020, he will be playing for one of United’s rivals.
Phoenix Rising FC announced Tuesday it has signed the forward that scored 11 goals for United in 2019.
“As a professional, you always thrive to play and be amongst the best and Phoenix has proven to be the best in this league,” Moar said in a statement on the school’s website.
Moar had 11 goals and six assists while earning second-team all-USL honors for United during its 11-10-13 season that ended with a first-round playoff defeat.
Phoenix was the runaway Western Conference winner at 24-4-6, though it was beaten its first playoff match as well.
New Mexico has announced the signing of 14 other players from this season past for 2020.
