Three in custody following shots fired call

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Three people were taken into custody following a shots fired call and an altercation Thursday night, police say.

Around 8:30 p.m. police received reports of gunshots, along with a call about a car speeding away from the scene on the 5200 block of Park Ridge, officer Daren DeAguero said.

“Shortly after the initial dispatch, a second call came in advising of an altercation in the area of Coors and Quail,” he said.

DeAguero said the altercation involved two cars, with one of the cars matching the description from the initial shots fired call.

Police then took the three people into custody following a traffic stop, he said.

“Nobody was hurt during this incident, no vehicle pursuit took place, and no officers were shot at,” DeAguero said.

He added that officers are still investigating the incident.

Coors was shut down for about an hour before being opened around 10 p.m.
