ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Work will include widening I-10 between Las Cruces and Texas state line to six lanes
The bidding process has begun anew for a $50 million project to improve Interstate 10 that will include widening 20 miles of the highway between Las Cruces and the Texas state line from four lanes to six lanes, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported.
The newspaper said initial bidding was conducted from late May until mid-June, but the state Department of Transportation did not announce a bid award for the project.
Bridget Spedalieri, spokeswoman for the department, told the Sun-News that some additional construction measures have been added to the new bid.
She said the new bidding process began Friday and will continue for two weeks, the newspaper said.
Once construction begins, the project is expected to take 18 months to complete, according to the Sun-News.
