RIO RANCHO, N.M. — New Mexico State Police are looking for a Bosque Farms man charged in a car crash that killed one person and injured a State Police sergeant in October in Rio Rancho.
Dwight David Weir, 55, is charged with vehicular homicide, great bodily harm by vehicle and possession of methamphetamine, all felonies, as well as reckless driving and a second offense of DWI, both misdemeanors. The criminal complaint was filed Dec. 12 in Sandoval County Magistrate Court.
Mark A. Marquez, 52, a Farmington residents and a passenger in Weir’s vehicle, was the person killed in the crash, the complaint said.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Weir was driving his green Ford SUV south on Unser near Mariposa about 4 p.m. Oct. 22 when he crossed into the northbound lane, striking the sergeant’s vehicle head-on.
