Leaping into 2020: Sandia Resort & Casino greets new year with $350,000 in giveaways

Sandia Resort & Casino is welcoming 2020 with big promotions.

The “$350,000 Leap Into the New Year” promotion runs now through Feb. 29. Three winners will be selected every two hours from 1 to 11 p.m. every Saturday through the end of February. Patrons can win from $1,000 in free play to $10,000 in cash. All prizes will be doubled during a leap year celebration on Feb. 1 and 29. Play your favorite slot or table games to be eligible to win. Swipe your Peak Rewards card at any promotional kiosk to claim your one free entry.

Sandia patrons can also win some extra cash during “The Prize Is Right” promotion this January. Four winners will be drawn between 7 and 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, Jan. 17 and Jan. 24 for an opportunity to win up to $10,000 cash.

Things are heating up this January at Sandia as part of its “Rapid Fire Giveaway.” Two winners will be chosen every two hours from 2 to 10 p.m. every Thursday this month. Players can win from $500 in free play and up to $1,000 in cash. Play your preferred slot or table games to be eligible to win. Swipe your Peak Rewards card at any promotional kiosk to claim one free ticket.

Celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rat during “Table Games Red Envelope Hot Seats” from Jan. 24 to Jan. 26. Five players will be selected every hour for a chance to win prizes from $100 to $500 in table games free play.

This month, poker players can take part in the “Sunday Quad’s High Hand Cash” from 8 a.m. Sunday to 7:59 a.m. Monday. Quads can win $75 or $150 cash. There will be a new board every Sunday.

In the bingo room, guests can participate in the “Just My Luck” promotion during the matinee and evening sessions on Sunday, Jan. 12, 19 and 26. Drawing winners will try to pick the next correct letter ball and will receive up to three chances. Players can win up to $500 cash, $500 in slot free play and certificates for “Pharaohs Bingo” packages. There will be only one prize per drawing winner. Bingo players will receive a fleece blanket with their bingo buy-in while supplies last as part of the “Winter Warm Up Gift” promotion. The promotion will be held during the matinee and evening sessions on Saturday, Jan. 11, and Jan. 25. Celebrate “January Dollar Days” this month, with all paper specials being $1 each every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Every Monday bingo guests can save with “Monday Fun-Day Discounts” this January. Players will receive $5 off “Half Time” and “Red Enchilada” packages, $10 off “Green Enchilada” packages, $15 off “Christmas Enchilada” packages and $20 off “Whole Enchilada” packages. Sandia keeps the entertainment going in its Grand Ballroom. David Victor, formerly of the rock band Boston, will hold two performances. The first show, on Jan. 17, is titled “Platinum Rockstars: Pure Classic Rock.” The show will feature classic rock hits from such bands as Bon Jovi, Journey, Foreigner, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Van Halen and more performed by Victor and his band. On Jan. 18, Victor and his crew will perform the hit songs of Boston and Styx during a concert that begins at 8 p.m. Concertgoers will hear Boston classics such as “More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind,” and “Foreplay/Long Time” as well as original music written by Victor. Tickets range from $35 to $75, plus fees. The casino is offering a buy one, get one free deal. Eventgoers can buy up to eight tickets for the price of four tickets.

Country star Ronnie Milsap will hold a Valentine’s Day dinner concert on Feb. 14 in the Grand Ballroom. The dinner will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., and the show will start at 8:30. Tickets range from $95 to $150 per person, plus fees. Tickets are available at the Sandia box office or online at
