Man in fake beard robs ABQ bank

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A man donned a big white beard when he held up a bank Wednesday afternoon in Northeast Albuquerque.

Frank Fisher, an FBI spokesman, said the suspect walked into a Bank of the West at 500 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. NE, near Interstate 25, around 3:45 p.m.

“The suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from two tellers,” he said. “The tellers handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who was last seen leaving the bank on foot.”

Fisher said the suspect is described as Hispanic, between 30 to 40 years old, and approximately 5 feet 7 inches.

The robber wore sunglasses, blue gloves, a fake white beard and carried a black backpack.
