Medicinal plants for Albuquerque gardens

The Xeric Garden Club of Albuquerque is presenting Dara Saville at a free talk on the best medicinal plants for local cultivation at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 in the Piñon Room at the Albuquerque Garden Center, 10120 Lomas NE.

Her presentation will focus on healing herbs from the Old World, including some of the most famous apothecary remedies, organizers said in a news release.

Saville plans to discuss growing conditions, harvesting and medicinal uses.

bright spotShe has a master’s degree in landscape geography and ecology resource management and has done fieldwork with the National Park Service.
