Deputies reopen eastbound I-40 near Tijeras following crashes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — All lanes of eastbound Interstate 40 are open Tuesday night after being largely shut down in the East Mountains, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

The closure followed multiple crashes between the Tijeras and Carnuel exits, according to BCSO’s official Twitter. It is unclear how many vehicles are involved or if anyone was injured.

“All lanes are now open, but roads are still slick so please use caution,” the update said.
