Casting call

Netflix is holding an open casting call in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

“The Harder They Fall” is the streaming giant’s latest production taking place in New Mexico.

It stars Idris Elba and is produced by Jay-Z. Production is expected to begin in March.

The film is a Western that follows the story of an outlaw, played by Jonathan Majors, who discovers that the man who killed his parents two decades ago is being released from prison. Elba plays the prisoner.

The outlaw reunites with his gang to track down the enemy and get revenge.

Preproduction and casting for extras have begun. The project will film in and around Santa Fe County as well as Diablo Canyon and ranches in the area. The film is directed by Jeymes Samuel.

The casting call will take place from 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1901 Pennsylvania NE, in Albuquerque.

Then from 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, it will be held at Hotel Santa Fe & Spa, Kiva B, 1501 Paseo de Peralta, in Santa Fe.

According to the casting call, the production is looking for everyday people to fill various roles as extras.

All ethnicities are welcome and horseback riding is a plus.

If available, bring at least one photo of yourself. If not, be prepared to have your photo taken by casting.
